Professional Qualifications

I have a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from Brunel University and followed this with a Foundation Degree in Counselling from Middlesex University.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) having successfully gained the BACP certificate of proficiency, meaning I am listed on their accredited register of counsellors and psychotherapists. I continually seek to further develp my professional practice and knowledge by attending specialist training events and workshops. I also hold full public liabilty insurance.

Personal Approach

I am predominantly a Person-Centred Counsellor although incorporate other approaches according to individual need.

At the heart of Person Centred Counselling is the belief that, given the right conditions, all individuals can thrive and reach their full potential. It is the individual client who knows what hurts and what they feel ready to start to explore within the safety of a therapeutic relationship. As such I work in a non-directive manner where you determine the pace and content of sessions in a safe, confidential, supportive and non-judgemental environment, where you will be listened to, heard, accepted and valued for who you are.

I aim to be as flexible as possible and am able to provide:
  • initial telephone or email contact to answer any questions you may have
  • daytime or evening appointments
  • long and short term work
  • more frequent sessions if required
